To bring the Memorandum of Understanding on Strengthening MICE Co-operation – signed by the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai – into action and further deepen the collaboration in convention and exhibition industry between Shanghai and Macao, the “Exhibitor Recruitment Seminar for the 23rd Macao International Trade and Investment Fair (23rd MIF) and the 2018 Portuguese Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) (2018 PLPEX)”, which were organised by IPIM and supported by the Council for the Promotion of International Trade Shanghai Sub-council and the Hong Kong & Macao Affairs Office of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, was held in Shanghai on 20 September. The event was joined by nearly 50 entities specialising in convention, exhibition, trade, logistics and wine trading.

In addition, during the business mission in Shanghai, IPIM visited some of the major organisations including the China International Import Expo Bureau and the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, to discuss the implementation of business matching between procurement entity/professional buyer and Macao exhibitors during the First China International Import Expo held in the first half af November, and to jointly organise exhibitors to attend the Macao Investment Co-operation Forum – Promotion Seminar on the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. IPIM’s delegates also attended the first World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2018 at the West Bund.
