Guests of the seminar

The Seminar on Trade in Services between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs), hosted by the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) and IPIM, and supported by the China-Portuguese-speaking Countries Federation of Entrepreneurs, was held in Macao on 1 June. The seminar focused on business opportunities in regional co-operation and trade in services, and discussed about how the trade in services sector between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (PSCs) can utilise the strengths of the Macao platform to broaden the enormous market in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and further promote trade and economic collaboration between China and PSCs.

The Secretary-General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) Xu Yingzhen and the Secretary of Trade and Services of Brazil Douglas Finardi Ferreira gave speeches at the opening ceremony respectively. The seminar was chaired by IPIM’s Executive Director and Deputy Director-General of Permanent Secretariat of the Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries (Macao) Gloria Ung and attended by guests including representatives from the government, finance, export trade and legal sectors as well as Chinese and Portuguese bilingual intermediary services to discuss about enhancing investment potential in PSCs and utilising the unique strengths of the Commercial and Trade Co-operation Service Platform between China and PSCs. There were more than a hundred participants including government officials from Mainland China, PSCs and Macao, representatives from entrepreneur associations, the services and finance sectors, as well as a number of enterprises.
