Promotion Seminar on the 1st China International Import Expo
Collaboratively organised by the Ministry of Commerce of China and Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, the First China International Import Expo will take place in Shanghai from 5 to 10 November 2018. In order to introduce the latest progress of the preparation for the event, Mr. Sun Tong, the Director-General of Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of the Ministry of Commerce, led the delegation to hold the Promotion Seminar on the First China International Import Expo. Over 70 representatives from governmental departments and industrial and commercial sectors participated in the seminar.
The Director-General of Department of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Affairs of Ministry of Commerce of China Sun Tong, the Commercial Counselor of Department of Foreign Trade Liu Changyu, the representative of China International Import Expo Bureau Han Ye and IPIM’s Executive Director Irene Va Kuan Lau respectively provided introduction of the Expo during the Seminar.
The First China International Import Expo will cover an area of 240,000 square meters, with National Trade Investment Comprehensive Exhibition and Corporate Business Exhibition being held during the Expo. In addition, the Hongqiao International Trade Forum will also be held concurrently, in which leaders of the country, directors of governmental departments, representatives from international organisations and leading enterprises as well as large multinational corporations will participate.
The Macao SAR Government will also take part in the works for the First China International Import Expo. The Committee for the Development of the “Belt and Road” will be organising the preparation for attending and exhibiting in the Expo, while the Government Information Bureau will be responsible for coordinating the design and construction works of the Macao Pavilion inside the China Pavilion, so as to embody Macao’s spirit of “patriotism, mutual help and pro-activeness”.
Furthermore, IPIM will organise the delegation of commerce and trade sectors to attend the event. In the meantime, IPIM will also organise Macao food enterprises and Portuguese-speaking Countries products agencies to exhibit in the food and agricultural product section inside the goods trade exhibition area, while the Macao Government Tourism Office will organise Macao tourism industry to exhibit in the tourism service section inside the service trade exhibition area.
